Da die Spendensumme ausreicht, gibt es dazu das Ballerspiel "Conflict: Desert Storm" und für Vizepräsident Dick Cheney einen Dual Shock 2 Controller zum Mitspielen. Außerdem wird eine Speicherweiterung beigefügt, um Bush und Cheney ein möglichst langes Spiel zu ermöglichen. Das gesamte Paket soll nun in Absprache mit dem Pressebüro des Weissen Hauses übergeben werden.

Seitdem im vergangenen Jahr die Mail-Adresse von Saddam Hussein (press@uruklink.net) bekannt wurde, erhielt der Diktator offenbar zahlreiche Mails. Neben dem unvermeidbaren Spam schickte man ihm Drohbriefe und Kooperationsangebote gleichermaßen. Massenvernichtungswaffen wurden ihm zum Kauf angeboten und ein Österreicher versuchte sich als freiwilliger Kämpfer anzubiedern.
Das Wired Magazin listet auf drei Seiten diese und weitere Beispiele. Angeblich konnte man sich Zugriff auf den Mail-Account im WWW verschaffen, weil Username und Password identisch waren.

I always had a weak spot for the turtles before they became a multi-merchandising-enterprise. The movies sucked, but the original self-published comic-book was great. The creators, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, made a shitload of money when they sold the rights to the charakters, but they spent a lot of it on enterprises like Tundra Publishing aka. they invested into the scene they grew out of it.
"The official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Treasury" by Stanley Wiaters (Villard Books, 1991) gives you the full story of Eastman, Laird, the Mirage Studios and the Turtles.

It's about time for the turtles to return and there are quite a few news over at the Home of the Ninja Turtles!
