Bruce LaBruce’s latest controversial post gay zombie movie was shot in Berlin and lovely Katharina Klewinghaus plays someone called Medea Yarn.
From the Synopsis by LaBruce himself: Otto; or, Up with Dead People is a melancholy zombie movie with political overtones that seeks to extend and elaborate the emerging zombie mythology. A modern fable about the loneliness, emptiness, and alienation that results from rampant consumerism and materialism under advanced capitalism, "Otto; or, Up with Dead People" presents as its central character Otto, a young man who may or may not be a zombie, depending on your point of view. Otto is first seen walking down a deserted stretch of highway, not knowing exactly where he came from or where he's going. He is dressed as a kind of neo-Goth dandy, but his clothes look and smell like they are rotting on his body. After hitching a ride with a clueless elderly couple that drops him off in the city, it quickly becomes apparent that there is something distinctly odd about Otto. He seems to be homeless, taking refuge in an abandoned amusement park, and he never sleeps. He also has an eating disorder: he has an aversion to consuming human flesh. CLOVERFIELD - BITTE EINE SCHEIBE J.J. ABRAMS ABSCHNEIDEN!
Dieser Film wird sehnsüchtig erwartet. Endlich ist auch der Trailer online, aber der hilft einem natürlich nicht weiter. Obwohl, wie der Kopf der Freiheitsstatue da auf's Pflaster schlägt, da ahnt man, hier wird nicht gekleckert.
Der Vadder von "Lost" liefert hier wahrscheinlich den besten Film mit riesigen Monstern, die unseren Planeten zerstören wollen, den dieser Planet bisher zu sehen bekam. Und dabei kennen wir die Monster noch gar nicht und haben keinen Schimmer, wo sie eigentlich herkommen. Warum funktioniert "Der weiße Hai" so gut? Weil man den Hai erst gen Finale wirklich zu sehen bekommt. Daher rührt die Spannung. Wenn "Bruce", das Monster aus Draht und Plastik, am Ende aus dem Wasser schießt und auf das Boot springt, kann man aufatmen. Ist ja nur ein Monster aus Draht und Plastik, sieht ja jedes Baby. Das Monster unter dem Bett oder im Wandschrank zu lassen, erzeugt Spannung. Das Kaspertheater von "Transformers" oder "Alien haut Predator was auf die Fresse" und Konsorten wirkt dagegen wie ein Witz mit verpatzter Pointe.

VERFLUCHTE PIRATEN DER KARIBIK 3
Ich habe den Film echt nicht verstanden. Den zweiten Teil habe ich schon nicht kapiert, aber bei Teil 3 will man nach gefühlten 15 Minuten schon nicht mehr verstehen, wer da eigentlich wen weswegen übers Ohr haut. Warum diese ganze metaphysische Soße da überhaupt reingestopft wurde, ist mir echt ein Rätsel.
Natürlich ist das Finale mit dem riesigen Strudel beeindruckend gefilmt, selbstverständlich ist Keith Richards ein ehrenwerter König der Piraten und Johnny Depp sowieso, aber kann sich jemand an den Plot erinnern?
Da sitzte und denkst, Alter, da biste echt zu alt für, dit is längst schon Videogame-Generation...
