boinboing reports: "Wednesday's edition of South Park tackles Scientology, in the typically oblique fashion fans of the show know and dig. But what's particularly interesting about the episode titled 'Trapped in the Closet' is that show producers tapped Mark Ebner for script consultation.

The Hollywood journo and celebrity-dirt-digger wrote this legendary Spy magazine article on Scientology from 1996, which began:

I am an ex-drug addict who has solicited prostitutes in my day. I've also masturbated and inhaled at the same time, and I have been arrested more than once in my life. I dropped out of high school, and I've been under psychiatric care. Oh yeah, and I owe the IRS roughly six thousand dollars that they are well aware of.

Variety reports that Warner Bros. TV and the team behind 'Smallville' got together to produce Aquaman - the series. How lame is that? There is an old saying in the comic industry: "Aquaman doesn't work!" But, anyway: "Scribe-producers Al Gough and Miles Millar (Spider-Man 2) have signed on to create and exec produce an as-yet-untitled action drama revolving around a twentysomething Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman. Frog has made a put pilot commitment to the project, which has already begun casting. 'Smallville' vet Greg Beeman is aboard to direct the pilot.

As with 'Smallville,' their successful reinvention of the 'Superman' saga, Gough and Millar plan to focus on character rather than cheese. Skein won't be called 'Aquaman' -- indeed, the 'A' word won't even be mentioned -- and Curry 'won't be talking to fish or riding a seahorse,' Gough said."

For the first time I can see the difference. "King Kong" - The complete trailer! We can finally see that big monkey on top of the Empire State Building! This movie really looks like the best way to waste a lot of money and it's the only remake I've ever been looking forward to!

"Oliver Stone has begun shooting one of the first Hollywood films about Sept. 11 in New York -- without recreating the large-scale devastation that's all too familiar to residents who lived through the 2001 attacks.(...) Most of the major action portraying the World Trade Center collapse will be shot on a Los Angeles sound stage. And although news footage of the towers themselves will be shown during the film, it will play on television screens in the background. Wow, das nenne ich mal einen wirklich schlechten Trailer und auch sonst wird dieser Film dem stolpernden Fußball-Merchandising-Imperium sportlich wenig helfen. Der spanische Autor Javier Marias verglich das Team in "Alle unsere frühen Schlachten" mit dem Monster von Frankenstein und bemerkte, dass auch der "echte Frankenstein ein paar Probleme mit dem Laufen hatte."
