Wikipedia: "House on Haunted Hill (1959) is a horror film directed by William Castle, written by Robb White, and starring Vincent Price as eccentric millionaire Fredrick Loren. He and his fourth wife, Annabelle, have invited five people to the house for a "Haunted House" party. Whoever stays in the house for one night will earn ten thousand dollars. As the night progresses, all the guests are trapped inside the house with ghosts, murderers, and other terrors."

• I forgot I had a freebie-dvd-copy of this. Must have been in some magazine, probably ended up on some pile to sort out later, moved out around my place a few times and decades later.. I watched it last night and it's really great. It has the best skeleton scene ever! The house you see in the opening is the Ennis House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. They also shot a scene for "Blade Runner" there. I watched "Last man on Earth" again afterwards because it was on the same dvd, but the copy was lousy and the disc sort of scratched in the middle and Hulk got mad, but thanks to the lord there is a new version which just came out and I might wanna buy it. It's free on the internet ( The Last Man on Earth, Public Domain), I know, but that means you haven't seen the film. Watch the opening again and you want to see it with a better resolution. Yeah, or you go and watch it on your Ipod while drinking Baby Machiatto on the taxi, trying to get the Concorde to New York in time....
