Waren es die gefürchteten Brothers Weinstein von Miramax, deren ständige Einmischung die Fertigstellung des Filmes immer wieder behindert hat? Wohl kaum, aber mit dieser Ausrede geht der Regisseur, der von seinem Film kurz nach Fertigstellung schon nichts mehr hören wollte, trotzdem hausieren. "Brothers Grimm" ist fürchterlich, ein verwirrter Versuch, einen Ballermann-Blockbuster mit typischem Gilliam-Touch zu machen. Ähnlich wie beim ebenso erfolgreichen wie hirnlosen "Van Helsing" bricht die Story, die an eine beliebige Episode irgendeiner Zeichentrick-Serie erinnert, bereits nach zehn Minuten in sich zusammen. Da helfen auch die teuren Sets nichts. Ganz schnell vergessen!
