POLITICS: HOW THE CIA LINKED SADDAM HUSSEIN TO THE SEPTEMBER 11 ATTACKS

Gulfnews.com: "In his new book The Way of the World, Pulitzer-Prize reporter Ron Suskind makes two accusations against the Bush administration. First, that the Bush administration received credible information from the British intelligence (who were informed by Iraq's intelligence chief Tahir Habbush) that Saddam Hussain had no weapons of mass destruction. Bush, and especially Dick Cheney and his neo-conservative entourage dismissed the information because they were intent on waging war.

Suskind reports that after the invasion of Iraq and the confirmation that Habbush was telling the truth, the Americans made a secret arrangement with him, hid him in Jordan and paid him $5 million.

Second, when it became clear after the invasion that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the Bush administration, under pressure to justify the war decision, ordered the CIA to fabricate evidence in the form of a letter purportedly written by Habbush, and backdated to 2001.

The letter is addressed to Saddam Hussain and in which Habbush purportedly writes that Mohammad Atta, the alleged mastermind of the September 11 attacks, had visited Iraq and "displayed extraordinary effort" and that he would be "responsible for attacking the targets we have agreed to destroy".

The forged letter could thus be used as 'evidence' of the link between Saddam Hussain and the September 11 attacks, a link which Bush and Cheney deceivingly claimed justified the war."

New Chief Justice Robert French, a self-confessed science fiction fan, tells the Sydney Morning Herald about his recent speech where he inserted clips of the Judge Dredd movie:

And I suggested here's a Hollywood picture of what this looks like and it's Sylvester Stallone as Judge Dredd saying 'I am the law,' " he says in chambers on the ninth floor of the High Court building in Canberra.

Computing: GOOGLE LAUNCHES IT'S OWN BROWSER

Philipp Lenssen writes "Google announced their very own browser project called Google Chrome — an announcement in the form of a comic book drawn by Scott McCloud, no less. Google says Google Chrome will be open source, include a new JavaScript virtual machine, include the Google Gears add-on by default, and put the tabs above the address bar (not below), among other things.

- Vorher startet die Band, die gestern noch vor Iggy Pop beschert hat und nach eigener Aussage "gut" gewesen ist, im guten, alten "White Trash", wo der gute, alte Wally hoffentlich wieder von seinen Verletzungen genesen ist (die Boulevard-Presse berichtete!) Wir wollen nichtmal den Namen sagen. Weil, das haben die nicht nötig. Da sagen wir mal, geht da mal hin, Kinder, da ist was los. Quentin kommt auch.

Sonntag treffen sich dann alle gut draufen KreuzbergerInnen und solche, die es werden wollen, lesbisch, behindert, mit Kohleofen oder Lebensentwurf, zunächst natürlich pünktlich bei der Eröffnung der neuen Ausstellung über Wagenbewohner im guten, alten Kreuzberg Museum. Tarantino, Rirkrit und Brad Pitt wollen auch kommen.

Danach geht es zügig rüber in's Kreuzberger Freiluftkino, wo der Zombie-Film von Bruce LaBruce (brauchen wir gar nicht den Namen sagen! Quentin ist ein Riesenfan....) zur Aufführung kommen wird und den Rest kann man sich denken.

Nach Jahren mal wieder die "Searching for the Jan Soul Rebels" gehört und wie anno 2001 weggeblasen gewesen. Man könnte dieses Album mit auf eine einsame Insel nehmen und wäre nie gelangweilt.
